The Project Accountant will provide financial and operations analysis at Tarsco through construction project financial management. This position works closely with finance and operations and acts as the liaison between project management and the financial controller. This position requires a deep understanding of project budgets, forecasts and revenue recognition and effective communication skills.
Role Responsibilities:
Prepares project forecast spreadsheets, works with project managers to properly forecast cost at completion. |
Prepares accrued and deferred revenue calculations and journal entries. |
Create and distribute various standing and ad hoc management reports. |
Prepare and email customer invoices. |
Forecast weekly cash inflows via communication with customer and project management. |
Prepare and distribute intercompany invoices. |
Input new projects and change orders into Great Plains. |
Drives process improvements and margin enhancements with timely data analysis. |
Assures compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Assure financial integrity of all accounting functions and ensure controls are in place to comply with all FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board) requirements and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). |
Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. |
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CMA certification a plus) .Minimum 3 years of experience. |
Construction accounting experience strongly preferred. |
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is preferred. |
Strong business partnering and communication skills. |
Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. |
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in an effective and constructive manner. |
Ability to present complex data to all levels of the organization effectively, using various forms of multimedia presentation tools. |
Excellent written skills for report preparation. |
