Job Title: Rubber Liner

Brant Corrosion Control, a division of the T.F. Warren Group Inc., is hiring rubber liners to work out of our facility located at 30 Garnet Rd, Brantford, Ontario, N3T 5M1. Brantford is a growing city, located an hour away from Toronto, with minimal traffic, affordable real estate, and a growing downtown core. It's the perfect place to raise a family.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Line interior of tanks, valves, pipes and similar articles with rubber sheeting to prevent corrosion of vessel and to minimize contamination, shock, ignition, or explosion hazards to contents
  • Inject compressed air into vessel to bond lining to vessel walls and introduce live steam or place article in autoclave to vulcanize rubber lining
  • Prepare vessel for application of lining by sandblasting, scraping or painting interior surfaces
  • Understand specification for surface preparation, adhesive systems, lining compounds, testing and vulcanization process (atmospherically/pressure)
  • May test lining for holes and faulty seams, using device that creates spark on contact with metal vessel through apertures in rubber
  • Able to inspect and repair existing lining systems
  • Inspect primer application and perform repairs and prepare and fill out reports as required
  • Understand and read blueprints, production drawings and customer specifications
  • Train and support lining team members
  • Maintain and use various hand and power tools

English language is required for this role.

Qualifications

Skills required:

  • 2 + years’ experience in rubber lining in the coatings & lining industry
  • 2 + years' experience with surface preparation – blast cleaning, metal preparation, cleaning of substrate, knowledge of acceptable fabrication requirements
  • 2 + years' experience with application and knowledge of adhesive systems for various lining compounds (natural, butyl, neoprene, self-curing, pre cured and chemically cured)
  • 2 + years' experience with curing of lining system and post cure repairing of lining systems
  • Positive "can do" attitude, working both in a team and autonomously
  • Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative
  • Proactive approach towards health and safety
  • Comfort working at heights & in confined spaces is essential
  • Education: No formal education requirement
