- Direct day to day activities of a project and the project team concerned with field construction of above ground O&G steel storage tank projects.
- Review project specifications, schedules, and plans to develop specific procedures and work plans for the construction of the project based on start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
- Coordinate members of the site project team (supervisory, clerical, engineering, project management, project safety and others) for the successful completion of a project.
- Carry ultimate responsibility for project quality and safety.
- Validate procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Ensure industry-specific and company proprietary tank erection equipment is maintained and in good working order.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of the tank erection equipment such as Cranes, Automatic Girth Welders, Automatic Vert Welders, Automatic Tank Erection Buggies, etc., to ensure that maintenance and repairs are done correctly and for the training and certification of operators.
- Direct site supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Direct assistant foremen and field crew members in completion of day to day work schedule and duties.
- Work with project managers, supervisory personnel, assistant foremen, engineering personnel, inspectors and tools and materials suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules.
- Prepare and review project progress and material and cost reports to determine current project status and adjust work schedules and work fronts as required to facilitate the successful completion of the project.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus minimum 3 years of related experience supervising steel storage tank welding, steel welding equipment operation/repair/maintenance, and rigging.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 95% domestic travel required to various unanticipated project sites throughout US.
