Tarsco is seeking a coordinator to support domestic and international logistics. This position is responsible for assisting the Global Logistics Director in ensuring on- time delivery of equipment and materials.
- Works with operations and job sites personal to coordinate and dispatch logistics moves in project of schedule.
- Advises Director of Global Logistics and operations of potential delivery problems.
- Recommends best mode of transport for efficient and effective movement of all purchased material and equipment to the Job sites
- Ensures that all carriers/vendors are compliant with DOT rules and regulations and Tarsco’s established internal policies and guidelines.
- Researches freight companies for projects as requested for job estimates.
- Reports unsolved problems to Director of Purchasing and/or Director of Logistics Represents Tarsco to external and internal customers through respectful, informative and courteous interactions and appropriate demeanor and appearance.
- Updates and maintains quote files.
- Sets up appropriate computer programs or paper files to maintain purchasing information.
- Prepares monthly reports for Director of Global Logistics as directed Assists estimating department with budgetary pricing for specific potential job sites.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or field related experience or 3- 5 years directly related logistics experience, construction or a combination of education and work experience that provides the level of knowledge and skill to perform the above responsibilities. Previous experience within a freight forwarder, project logistics, construction or manufacturing environment company preferred.
- Must have proficiency in Domestic and International shipping.
- Must be Fluent in Spanish
- Excellent and demonstrated knowledge of logistics principles and practices required.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and or construction systems required.
- Must have experience using Microsoft Office business application software including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. GP experience a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to discuss technical information with others.
- Strong organizational skills required. Must be able to multi-task
- Travel to project sites as needed
