Responsibilities

The payroll administrator position is accountable for collecting timekeeping information, incorporating a variety of deductions into a periodic payroll, and issuing pay and pay-related information to employees for multiple business units. This position requires general knowledge of common payroll, Davis Bacon and prevailing wage reporting and general accounting practices. This role will maintain related records, voluntary deduction reports, involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and preparing special reports for management. This position will be required to meet deadlines and be able to multi-task.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processing Salary and Hourly payroll on a weekly and biweekly basis.
  • Collection and verification of hours and incentives (subsistence, truck allowance, etc.)
  • Confirm coding is accurate for Job Costing purposes
  • Submit to 3rd party payroll for processing by deadline
  • Load payroll into Great Plains accounting system
  • Distribution of checks and pay stubs to field
  • Certified payroll reports
  • Calculation of Union Dues
  • Includes approximately 300+ employees
  • Perform special projects, and other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of payroll time collection and reporting experience
  • Strong Excel knowledge required
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, detail oriented and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of federal and multi-state payroll wage and tax laws
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage knowledge
  • Regular and reliable attendance, and able to work additional hours as needed

  • Construction experience preferred
  • Great Plains experience preferred
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Alliance Payroll Services software experience
