The Business Development Manager is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and market penetration by effectively selling Oil and Gas storage tanks and terminals and personally contacting and securing new business accounts/customers. Knowledge and experience selling API 650/620 storage tanks is an essential requirement of the role.
Promotes/sells/secures contracts from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach. Demonstrates products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs. Applies innovative approaches and strategies to identify new prospects and convert new business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Business development through sales calls and visits to existing and prospective customers.
- Provides customer support through customer service, answering product support questions and resolving issues in a timely manner while acting as the intermediary between the customer and company staff.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key customer personnel.
- Ability to read drawings, prepare take-offs, analyze customer needs, and develop proposals for fulfilling customer needs.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity reports, such as weekly sales reports, quoting report and sales activity by customer.
- Works with Project Managers and other sales team members to ensure scheduling projects ensures timely delivery to customer.
- Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
- Continued growth of the business units with an emphasis on safety, quality, and profitability.
- Regular travel to Customer Location, and Project Sites is required.

- Excellent relationship building skills

- Broad knowledge of the steel production industry preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of sales/marketing strategy design and implementation.
- Strong MS Project skills, and full Microsoft Office Suite products, especially PowerPoint

Bachelor’s degree required, with Engineering or Construction background preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in Oil and Gas sales
- Knowledge and experience selling API 650/620 storage tanks is required.
